Cannot say enough great things about this place. We were told it was an hour wait when we got there and it was definitely worth the wait. We sat the bar and had some drinks and appetizers. The bartenders were wonderful. They knew pretty much everyone by name and can tell they have a lot of regulars there. Do not pass on the homemade cheese spread. Best cheese spread we have ever had. You can even take it home as they sell it. I had the fish fry for dinner and my husband had the pork shank. The portions were big and the food was excellent. You get fritters with honey butter to start with and it was a unique thing for sure. Our waitress was wonderful as well! The prices were cheap for a supper club. The atmosphere and decor were perfect. Every single person working there was so incredibly nice. It is definitely worth the drive and will come back for another visit!

Came on a saturday around 6:30 to a 45 minute wait. There was parking available. The waiting area had benches, tables, a bar, and games and a pool table. Service was quick, food was amazing, and drinks and dessert were excellent as well. Highly recommend popping by if you’re in the area!

Easily one of the best in the area! Anyone who goes to the Devils Lake State Park should make a stop here! It is literally a hidden gem and somewhat isolated but is definitely in my top 5 of best supper clubs in Wisconsin! Had their old fashioned which is good and affordable! For the appetizers, we had crab cakes and cheese curds which are good nothing special. The Ribeye steak is top 3 in my list! Super good and cooked well for a medium rare. Will definitely go back if ever I am in the area!

My husband and I traveled here to celebrate our 20-year wedding anniversary. He called ahead for reservations (Wednesday, 5pm). It was a special experience. The building is beautiful with a great history. Tables are spaced apart and the service is on point. We had sauerbraten and rahmschnitzel -- both were so good with no left overs! After dinner we walked around the reception hall and beer garden. Honestly, if you like German food or supper clubs, make this a destination!

This place is worth the drive!!! We had a great experience, the atmosphere, service and food were are great. Started with old fashions which could have been muddled but still were good. We ordered the Prime Rib, Jaegerschnitzel, and the Rouladen. The prime was on point and the German dishes were a great average restaurant dish. Coming from a true German heritage I have had better but in a restaurant setting this was definitely decent! I would good back any-day. Also get the ice drinks they are great. See you soon!!!

A Timeless Treasure: Dorf Haus Supper Club. Visiting the Dorf Haus Supper Club in Roxbury is like stepping into a beautifully preserved slice of Old World charm — and every visit feels like coming home. This past Friday marked my fourth time dining at this beloved spot, and once again, the experience was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the service stood out. We were warmly welcomed by Rebecca Maier-Frey, one of the second-generation owners who, along with her brother Monte Maier, continues the proud tradition begun by their parents, Vern and Betty Maier. It's clear that the spirit of the original Dorf Haus — built on dedication, hard work, and a love of people — is alive and well. The food was phenomenal. Dinner started with their famous Dorf Haus Fritters, served warm with softened butter. These lightly sweet, airy rolls are so comforting, they alone would be worth the trip. Next came a hearty bowl of their Chicken and Dumpling Soup, brimming with tender chicken, vegetables, and homemade dumplings — true comfort food at its finest. For the main course, the award-winning Friday Fish Fry did not disappoint: perfectly golden, lightly breaded haddock served with crispy hash browns and a side of tartar sauce. The freshness and flavor of the fish were exceptional. We also tried the Schweinshaxe — a richly roasted pork shank topped with sauerkraut and served alongside applesauce and delicious spaetzle. The pork was incredibly flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender, an absolute must-try for fans of authentic German cuisine. Not pictured but equally delightful were the jumbo 16 oz. pretzel, served with warm cheese sauce and German mustard, and the Muenster cheese curds, which were crisp on the outside and perfectly melty inside. Beyond the food, what truly sets the Dorf Haus apart is the feeling of timelessness. Rebecca and Monte have preserved the heart and soul of the supper club their parents built. Surrounded by antique German decor, paintings of castles and kings, and breathtaking stained glass, you can’t help but feel like you’re part of a living history. In a world that’s always evolving, it’s both rare and refreshing to find a place where the traditions of hospitality, community, and exceptional food are lovingly preserved. Dorf Haus Supper Club is one of those treasures, and I look forward to returning time and again to create even more lasting memories.
